In need of a healthy does of scrummy summer goodness? Then we have the recipe youâ€™re after! John and Ismail, owners of the delightful frozen yogurt spot, The Farmery, shared their â€˜Five A Dayâ€™ Summer Smoothie which you can easily re-create at home. Jam-packed full of antioxidants and vitamin C, what better way to drink to good health eh?
You will need:
1 small cup of The Farmery’s wild strawberry frozen yoghurt (130g) or strawberry frozen yoghurt of choice.
5 whole strawberries cut into quarters
1 thick slice of pineapple (diced)
1/2 of an alphonso mango (diced)
1/2 a ripe banana (sliced)
1 cup of freshly pressed apple juice
Before we start it is essential that you help yourself to a strawberry or two for a very important taste test (we quite agree). Moving on to the construction of the smoothie; quite simply blend all the tasty ingredients well until silky-smooth and foamy on top.
And thatâ€™s it! We did say it was easy. Who knew something so healthy could be so scrummy and simple to create. Perfect for those of us always on the go, whether you have a glass for your breakfast or a dessert treat – these would also make a lovely drink for summer parties, weddings or picnics.
