Kerri-Ann shows us how to have fun this Summer with our garden game, Target Tumble... read more
Time spent with family really is the best time. When Spring arrives I can’t help but smile when I think about all the adventures our little family have in the diary. It really is my favourite time of year – when we can make the most of the weekends, the lighter mornings and nights, warmer days and let’s not forget BBQ season. Who doesn’t love a toasted marshmallow? No longer are we returning home from work and school in the dark, huddled up under a blanket shortly after – as nice as that sounds it is so lovely to be outdoors.
Family life can often be so hectic and so when Spring graces us with its presence we try to enjoy being outdoors as much as possible and making the most of our time together. Our five-year-old boy loves to play outdoors and is often found kicking a ball or playing tag so it was lovely to see him enjoying another game which we could all play together. Especially one so quintessentially British. I love these traditional wooden games, they’re so much fun, bright and colourful and so much fun for all the family.
We really enjoyed taking this wooden Target Tumble garden game set with us on a little break to Whitby for the Easter holidays. It felt like the perfect time to try it out whilst we stayed in a little camping pod – playing with this game on the campsite really reminded me so much of my childhood, such simpler times. Other children joining us, the laughter and giggles as balls were knocked off the posts.
He is also looking forward to playing with the set in our garden, hopefully at our first family BBQ or a birthday celebration in June when we can all play together. I’m really looking forward to involving Nanny and Grandad, I’m sure they will be reminded of their childhoods too. Creating a memory, recalling a memory whilst laughing along the way sounds like the perfect family time to me.
Whether you are planning a picnic in the park, a garden party or even a trip to the seaside this little set is perfect for taking along with you on your journey. With its handle and box style, you will have no problem carrying it with little hands to help you on your way.
Seeing how much our little boy enjoyed playing with this wooden painted set from Laura Ashley got me thinking about other traditional garden games we could play together. Do you remember playing rounders on the field or even at school? And what about a game of skittles? The perfect trio of games to play during a family garden party.
