Mother & daughter blogging duo Jazmine & Barri refresh their bathroom with Laura Ashley... read more
When it comes to decorating, reinventing a space in your home doesn’t need to be time consuming or costly. A simple room refresh can be anything from a lick of paint to a soft furnishing switch up. With this in mind, we set¬†mother and daughter blogging duo Jazmine and Barri (Barri and Belle)¬†the challenge of giving their bathroom a new lease of life. Part one of the bathroom make-over included a colour scheme overhaul, swapping the dated lime green shade for a clean and inviting bright pallete of neutrals, we caught up with Jazmine and Barri to find out what they had in mind for phase 1 of their project…
What made you decide to give your bathroom a make‚ÄĎ over?
J: Painting our bathroom has been a long time coming, let me tell you! We are always redecorating and rearranging our bedrooms and kitchen, but over the last few years the bathroom has taken a bit of a back seat. It’s the one place we weren’t completely happy with, so we are so excited to be using Laura Ashley products to help turn our bathroom into something beautiful and inspiring.
B: We’ve been planning on redecorating for around twelve months now so thought the start of a new year would be the perfect time to do it!
THE BEFORE SHOT…
Tell us the ‘look and feel’ you are going for?
J: I wanted to create a simple and classic bathroom, with feminine touches throughout. I’ve been looking at Pinterest and home d√©cor magazines for inspiration, plus working as a visual merchandiser and stylist definitely helps me action the vision I have in my head!
B: We wanted to get away from the shabby and dark look the green paint was giving us, and I especially wanted to create a bathroom that could become a relaxing space for me to soak in a bubble bath after work.

Which Laura Ashley paint / products did you choose and why?
J: Pale Twine, Truffle and Chalk Pink make our main bathroom colour palette ‚ÄĎ I wanted to steer away from the obvious and usual bathroom colours and focus on tones we already have throughout the rest of our home.
B: ¬†We picked up a ‘Bathe’ decoration and a few little candles in the Laura Ashley sale to add a little something to the bathroom. We also have some pretty Laura Ashley plant pots and mugs that we are hoping to work into our decor somehow ‚ÄĎ maybe to hold our toothbrushes and makeup!

THE AFTER SHOTS…
What’s the next stage of the bathroom make‚ÄĎ over?
J: I’ll be looking in charity shops to find a secondhand chair or cabinet to stack towels on, plus I’m looking for pretty pots and jars to hold our bath products in.
B: A little bit of DIY! We are in the process of painting some mirrors and frames to add to the bathroom, plus we are hoping to get our hands on some pretty Laura Ashley fabric so I can make my own roller blinds ‚ÄĎ perhaps in a pretty gingham or floral print!
Stay tuned for the next installment of Jazmine and Barri’s bathroom makeover, we can’t wait to see how it turns out. In the mean-time be sure to bookmark Barri and Belle to read more about their adventures.
