Treat yourself this Christmas to some of these gorgeous baking accessories... read more
Baking is one of those things that everyone can enjoy! So that’s why we have created a brand new range of baking gift accessories, available at Boots. To accompany these beautiful accessories we need a scrummy recipe to go with, so that’s why the lovely Paula from the Hill House Diaries is here to share hers.
What do you do when it’s time to put the pumpkins away and your eye starts to wander towards the Christmas decorations aisles in your favourite shop? You reluctantly have to admit, that even for the most enthusiastic of seasonal decorators, it may be deemed a tad too early to hoist up the Christmas tree?
Well, that’s when I start my Christmas themed baking.  No one will ever complain about premature seasonal indulgence when it’s presented in the form of cake – especially my festive spice and buttercream cupcakes!
The range comes in a beautifully elegant silver grey and off-white colourway, which perfectly compliments my love of painted furniture and vintage silver. Being such a subtle monochrome, the neutral shades and dainty pattern would probably fit in with any decorating scheme and leave the cakes free to do the talking!
I particularly love the pretty, yet traditional nature of the ceramic cake stand and cake server  giving you the ability to serve up a festive high tea. With the accompanying teacup, saucer and cake plate set, the scene really is set for tea a deux – or for one, if like me, there are occasions when you really just fancy a beautifully presented cuppa on your own!
Being somewhat of a tea addict, and for those moments when baking isn’t on the agenda, it was brilliant to see that the range also included their own tea time treats. You will find a selection of English breakfast tea, the most delicious looking fruit and lemon biscuits, and some post tea fudge!
I’m always on the hunt for attractive storage to keep my tea time treats fresh. So the matching two sized cake tin set came in handy for keeping the cakes ready for round two later on…
