Transitioning your wardrobe into Autumn can seem like a challenge and a very daunting task but the fabulous Jane from My Midlife Fashion takes the stress out of selecting what to wear with these handy, easy to put together looks that are her autumn favourites. Let us know which is your favourite…

I think it’s safe to say that Autumn has arrived & with it hopefully some crisp sunny days. Of course, the start of a new season means it’s time to pack our summer wardrobes away & bring out all our Autumn favourites. I don’t know about you but I always love seeing what the new season has in store for us in terms of fashion so when a new catalogue lands on my doorstep I’ll happily spend time savouring all the new season’s delights.

Today I’m sharing my top picks from Laura Ashley’s AW17 collection. From pretty white tops, to tailored boiled wool biker jackets, to classic cigarette pants & skinny jeans Laura Ashley have got you covered for the months ahead.

As you can see from the outfits I’ve put together there’s some great pieces that would prove versatile additions to any wardrobe & hopefully the looks I’ve created will give you some inspiration for your Autumn wardrobe this season.

My highlight pieces include the above frill detail chambray shirt, which for anyone who loved the Isabel Marant version makes a great purse friendly alternative. As well as all the pretty black & white blouses I’ve featured above. For me a pretty white blouse or embroidered black top are just so useful & perfect come date night or night out with the girls. Plus this skirt is very similar to something I snapped up in the summer sales & is ideal for teaming with a camisole & denim jacket during the better weather then layered with a jumper, biker jacket & ankle boots come winter. I’m also loving the idea of this pretty dress teamed with some edge pieces like a leather biker jacket & biker boots.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been sent a few pieces from Laura Ashley, all of which I love & have styled below.

Starting with this boiled wool biker jacket, which is just brilliant & a great cross between a cardi & jacket, not to mention easy to wear, whilst being lovely & warm. A great wardrobe staple that can be dressed up or down & worn with anything from trousers, jeans, skirts or dresses so definitely a great all-rounder. In fact, I’ve already recommended it to a couple of my clients.

I have a huge weakness for pretty white tops, as my wardrobe & hubby can testify! So it goes without saying that I’ve loving this new white blouse. The texture adds a lovely bit of interest & the frill detailing around the neckline & cuffs is so me & really helps lift an outfit. Plus the fabric is extremely soft & even better it doesn’t crease easily – what more could you ask for?!

In terms of sizing I’m wearing an 8 in both items so they’re pretty true to size.

Jane6 I’ve teamed my new pieces with a simple pair of cropped kick flare jeans & I’m accessorising with a splash of metallic, with this pewter shopping styled bag. Perfect for fitting all my essentials in (including the kitchen sink, should you require 😉 ). I just love the finish, which is what I’d describe as a worn in look & not solid silver so not too bling-tastic & is also available in several other colours here – so definitely worth a peek.

Jane7 Hopefully I’ve given you plenty of food for thought for your Autumn wardrobes. So why not make yourself a cup of tea, open a pack of biscuits & head on over to Laura Ashley’s fashion section & see what else they have in store for you this season. As I was writing this post I’ve just spotted this jacket, which definitely requires further investigation. I’m off to take a further peek!
