Check out the perfect dress this autumn... read more
We all have that panic when we go away about what to pack, whether it‚Äôs a worry about what the weather will be like or how dressed up we need to be for dinner. So to make life that little bit easier we suggest finding the perfect dress for every occasion. Faced with an upcoming trip away the wonderful Kirsten from The LIFB Issue needed to ensure she packed a little number that she could wear multiple times during her time away and we think she found the dreamiest of dresses…
My other half knows my playful style very well. We were just talking about it the other day. I think you can easily say that it’s a key aspect in our interior too which is mostly playful, a lot of the things are traditional and a visitor would also spot some old-fashioned elements. It’s my favourite combination because I will love it for a very long time, possibly for the rest of my life.
We just returned from the most wonderful holiday in Cornwall. We moved to the UK from Germany last year and as I don’t see my parents that often, it’s a highlight for us when they’re visiting. We planned on doing something special and I had it on my wishlist to show them my beloved Cornwall. We stayed at a very cosy cottage near Widemouth Bay and the kitchen was my favourite place in the house. A classic English country style kitchen that I wish I could have taken home with me.ss
The landlord must have had some sort of idea that I would bring this pretty Laura Ashley dress with a floral print because there was a bunch of flowers in the kitchen in similar colours.
I can hardly resist a gorgeous floral midi dress and this one immediately caught my eye for so many reasons. It has that little touch of nostalgia to it and the vintage brown and pink colours look so great together especially now that we have autumn. It falls beautifully and has the prettiest ruffles. It was a bit chilly in the morning so I put on a cardigan to add a bit more to the rustic cottage charm. If you want to go for a more sophisticated look, just wear the cardigan with a great brown leather belt.
Not only did we want to show my wonderful parents around Cornwall, we had another special reason for this holiday. My hubs and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.¬†You also call it silver wedding anniversary; a term which sounds so strange to us probably because it feels quite unreal. But there’s nothing more beautiful than having a partner by your side that will go through thick and thin with you, that you can easily call your best friend, someone who will always listen to your worries and dreams. We’ve been experiencing such great things together and having moved to the UK at a more mature age and having sold our house was a major step for us. But we both think it’s so important to listen to your heart and follow your dreams, no matter your age.
We are not all about huge presents but prefer collecting precious moments. Our week in Cornwall was definitely memorable. On our actual anniversary we went out for dinner with my parents, enjoyed being together and can you guess which dress I was wearing? It had to be this pretty number of course. To be quite honest with you, I can’t wait for Christmas: Our flights to Germany are already booked and I’m definitely taking this pretty dress with me and wear it during the festive season.
