Look pretty in pink this season… read more
Pink is such a beautifully feminine shade and is one that continues to stand the test of time and seasons. Whether you want to dress head to toe in this shade or soften up a masculine look with a feminine colour it’s the ideal colour for Spring. The fabulous Cara from Within These Walls is a big fan of pink fashion so lucky for her we’ve launched our Vintage Romance collection with gorgeous dusky pink shades that are right up her street. Here she shows us how she’ll be styling her pink Laura Ashley items this season…
I can‚Äôt pinpoint exactly when I first fell in love with the colour pink. I know it has been something that has crept up on me in recent years. Part of the reason might be because I live in a very male household. I‚Äôm a mother of two boys, and my husband and I also have two male dogs so often I feel like it‚Äôs five against one. For me pink is so feminine and in the right shade it can uplift my mood more than any deep bubble bath ever can. I have slowly been introducing pink into the house, the odd cushion here and there which I seem to be getting away with. When it comes to fashion I don’t have to be so subtle about what colours I love and what works for me.
I have always been a fan of Laura Ashley and how quintessentially English the brand is. As we move into spring this is the store I am always drawn to. They never fail to have amazing florals and classic fashion. The new collection has so many wonderful pieces especially this blush pink coat.
As a mother, I sometimes find getting the balance between style and practicality very difficult. My recent strategy for this is to always own an amazing statement coat. It means that even if I am only wearing simple jeans and a t-shirt I can feel like I’ve made as much effort as the days when my hair has actually been brushed. The dusky pink cocoon coat is a wool blend so it is perfect for the weather during the transition into spring. Oh I am so excited for spring! It is a very on trend shape that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere so I am confident this will be a great coat for years to come. The dusky tone makes it easy to pair with so many different outfits. I personally loved teaming it with this ruffle detail blouse and jeans.
An outfit perfect for a stroll around the shops childfree!
The ruffle blouse has so much detail and is in a lovely cotton blend light material. I will mainly be wearing it under dungarees with those ruffles peaking out the top! I loved wearing this shirt it made me feel so feminine. It is so versatile, something that would be great for workwear too.
Choosing items that can be worn for lots of different occasions is amazing when you have children or at least I think so. Meaning my mornings rushing around doing the school run and then out to take photographs for my blog are so much sleeker. When I fall in love with an item of clothing I love to wear it as many different ways as possible and I’ve had so much fun styling these two items. I have a feeling my love of pink is here to stay!
