As a lone woman in a house full of boys, thereās not a lot of pink in our home.Ā Not that its inclusion has ever been vetoed but ā naturally ā itās just not a colour that makes much of an appearance.Ā Until now.Ā We recently invested inĀ a new bedĀ ā we swapped our 20-year-old wrought iron bed-frame for a smart, grey upholstered version ā and I decided to redecorate our bedroom in readiness.Ā
The inky blue walls got a fresh coat of white paint and I decided to invest in some lovely new bedding, too.Ā Pink was definitely not on the agenda at this point!Ā Iād found the most gorgeous,Ā simple set from Laura Ashley; crisp white with embroidered polkadots.Ā But after having so muchĀ colour in the bedroom, it suddenly felt very stark and unwelcoming.Ā Thatās when I realised that the bedlinen Iād chosen came in another colour:Ā blush pink.Ā

IN THE PINK
Amazingly, not one of the boys (either the man-shaped or the tiny variety) have commented about the addition of pink, other than to say how lovely the room looks.Ā I daresay, if Iād suggested aĀ blush pink and grey bedroom to Richard, heād have definitely not been too keen ā but the new bed and blush pink accessories have made our bedroom into such a haven.Ā Getting out of bed in a morning is tricky at the best of times but Iām finding myself wanting to sneak away and read my book in the middle of the day.
And Iām also finding myself wanting to introduce more pink in the house!Ā Softly, softlyā¦
