Placing your Order


Your complete guide to ordering curtains, pelmets and blinds


Measuring up for new curtains or blinds may sound like a daunting task, but we think you’ll find that our useful advice and detailed, easy-to-follow guidelines will remove any uncertainties when ordering your drapes. Also, if you want to find out the cost before ordering, simply follow the guidelines and phone 0871 230 2301 for a free quotation. Calls may be recorded or monitored. Calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras.


1. Choose your fabric

Please refer to our Swatch Library on our Autumn Winter 2008 Catalogue/ Online Catalogue pages 265 - 272 or visit Drape Fabric Ranges online and choose from our exclusive range of drape fabrics

3. Decide on your details*

Refer to the individual product pages within our catalogue for the options available. Don’t forget to specify the lining type and colour, together with any additional trimmings or finishes. If ordering blinds, consider whether you would prefer your pull on the right or left side.

4. Place your order

For a FREE quotation, or to place an order, you can either:

  • call 0871 230 2301
  • post or fax the order form
  • or visit any of our stores.
  • For Made-to-Measure curtains and blinds, minimum standard delivery is ?4.50. We will give you an approximate week for delivery when you place your order. (All telephone quotes are confirmed in writing, which you should receive within four working days.)

  • Choosing Made-To-Measure Curtains

  • You can choose from over 160 fabrics (see swatch library pages 265-272)
  • All styles are available unlined, lined (in white, cream or oatmeal), interlined or with blackout lining (in cream or white)

  • Curtain Treatments

    Deep pencil pleat (14cm) and pencil pleat (7.5cm) curtains

  • Suitable for curtain tracks and poles

  • Leading edge curtains

  • Suitable for curtain tracks and poles
  • 8cm leading edge border
  • Available with pencil pleat and deep pencil pleat headings
  • Lined curtains only
  • Borders available in all colours of Austen, Dupion Silk, Villandry and Barton
  • Borders also available with piping in a choice of all Dupion Silk colours
  • Not available on Express Service

  • Leading and trailing edge curtains

  • Suitable for curtain tracks and poles
  • 8cm leading and trailing edge borders
  • Available with pencil pleat and deep pencil pleat headings
  • Lined curtains only
  • Borders available in all colours of Austen, Dupion Silk, Villandry and Barton
  • Borders also available with piping in a choice of all Dupion Silk colours
  • Not available on Express Service

  • Tab-headed curtains

  • Suitable for curtain poles with a maximum diameter of 3.5cm

  • Goblet-headed curtains

  • Suitable for curtain tracks and poles
  • Goblet depth 10cm
  • Delivered ready to hang with hooks attached

    Choosing Made-to-Measure Pelmets

  • Available in wide range of fabrics (see swatch library, pages 265-272)
  • Choose from 5 style of pelmet fro the perfect finish to your curtains
  • All styles of pelmet are available lined in white, cream or oatmeal


  • Choosing Roller Blinds

  • Available in a wide range of fabrics (see swatches on page 265 - 272 of catalogue).
  • Choice of three edge style, straight-edge, serpentine or with wooden trim.
  • Available lined (in White, Cream or Oatmeal) or with blackout lining (in White or Cream).
  • Available reverse-rolled upon request.
  • Supplied ready to hang with beaded side-winder on right or left hand side.
  • Supplied with brackets for ceiling or wall fitting.
  • Serpentine blinds available with gimp trim in a choice of colours.
  • Straight-edged blind available with a 5cm wooden slat finish in Laura Ashley matt emulsion paint colour.
  • Straight-edged blind also available with piping in a choice of Dupion silk colours.



  • Choosing made to measure Wooden and Aluminium blinds

    Split-wood roman blinds

  • Supplied ready to hand with raise/lower controls on right-hand side
  • Supplied with brackets for ceiling or wall fitting
  • Cord lock mechanism for accurate positioning of height
  • Available in 5 colours – please see page 246 of the catalogue for colour chart
  • Edging braids are colour co-ordinated to the colour of the blind specified

  • Aluminium venetian blinds

  • Supplied ready to hang with raise/lower control cord and tilt wand on right-hand side
  • Supplied with brackets for ceiling or wall fitting
  • Cord lock mechanism for accurate positioning of height
  • Available with 2.5cm slats
  • Available in 10 colours – please see page 246 of the catalogue for colour chart.

  • Wooden venetian blinds

  • Supplied ready to hang with raise/lower control cord and tilt cords on right-hand side
  • Supplied with brackets for ceiling or wall fitting
  • Cord lock mechanism for accurate positioning of height
  • Available in 6 colours – please see page 247 of the catalogue for colour chart.
  • Supplied with ladder strings, fascia pelmet and wooden toggles.
  • Tapes can be specified as an alternative to standard ladder strings.
  • NB: Natural wood blinds are made from highly grained timbers and therefore slats may vary in colour and grain throughout the blind.
  • Controls are also available on left-hand side if preferred- please state when ordering.
