Paint Buying Guide

Our paint range is designed to co-ordinate with our fabric and wallpaper ranges, they are all manufactured in the UK to the highest standards. We use the richest pigments for depth of colour and even results. To ensure minimal environmental impact and health implications all Laura Ashley emulsion and eggshell paints are designated low VOC. We also offer a variety of finishes to help you choose the most suitable for your home.

nb Our paint range is available in selected stores and online. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colours, variations may occur due to limitations in the printing process on tins and the catalogues. We always recommend the use of sample pots for testing.

Choosing the right colour

It is important to bear in mind that your chosen paint colour will vary in shade in accordance to the lighting conditions in the room. We would always recommend testing the colour with a sample pot in order to be 100% sure of your choice. We would also recommend that you observe the colour against fabrics and other accessories planned to be in the same room.

Choosing the right finish

Matt Emulsion

All of our matt emulsion paints are water based with a soft matt finish. They are suitable for use on interior walls and ceilings in all of our colours. We recommend painting onto a clean, dust and grease free surface, for best results apply two coats.

Our matt emulsion paints are suitable for use with both brushes and rollers for internal surfaces. Please ensure batch numbers are matched if you are using more than one tin of paint in the same colour or ensure they are intermixed well.

Do not use on radiators or other surfaces that are likely to become hot.

To clean painted areas, gently wipe soiled areas with a sponge and warm soapy water. Avoid excessive rubbing as this can leave a mark when dry. We do not recommend the use of harsh detergents to remove stains.

Water Based Eggshell

All of our Water Based Eggshells are suitable for internal surfaces and woodwork. They provide a tough, washable and easily maintainable surface.

We recommend painting onto a clean, dust and grease free surface, for best results apply a quality water based primer, followed by two coats of Laura Ashley Water Based Eggshell.

Our Eggshell paints are suitable for use with both brushes and rollers for internal surfaces. Please ensure batch numbers are matched if you are using more than one tin of paint in the same colour or ensure they are intermixed well.

Drying time: 2-3hours touch dry
Recommended 24hours drying time between coats
Coats: Recommended 2
Coverage per 750ml can 10 square meters
Use within 6months of opening.

Kitchen & Bathroom

All of our kitchen and bathroom paints are water based and provide a soft sheen finish to your surfaces. They are durable, mould, stain and moisture resistant and can be used on interior walls and ceilings.

Greasy or dirty surfaces should first be washed using a mild detergent wash or sugar soap and allowed to dry thoroughly. Two full coats of emulsion should be applied to achieve the required colour standards.

Our water based paints are suitable for use with both brushes and rollers for internal surfaces. Please ensure batch numbers are matched if you are using more than one tin of paint in the same colour or ensure they are intermixed well.
