Buying new upholstered furniture is an investment that you'll want to stay looking good for many years. Yet as we all know, little accidents, such as spills, can permanently spoil the appearance. Luckily, with Guardsman 5 year protection can sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that you are protected against mishaps spoiling your upholstery.
How the programme works…
As part of the Valspar Corporation, one of the worlds’ largest coating manufacturers with 40 years professional experience, Guardsman offers peace of mind protection for your new fabric and leather upholstery orders from Laura Ashley. It’s the most comprehensive way to care for your new investment. Developed to protect your fabric from various stains and to alleviate your worries in case your fabric or leather suffers from rips, tears, burns or scratches.
- Simply ask for 5 year Guardsman Protection when purchasing your new upholstery from our collection.
- Your fabric upholstery will arrive having been given a Guardsman stain resistant treatment. (The Avalon fabric and suede effect fabric are Teflton treated)
- Guardsman 5 year protection starts as soon as your furniture is delivered
- If damage occurs during the cover period simply call the Vespar claims number for advice on how to deal with the situation*
- If necessary, a care professional will be sent to your home to rectify the problem, free of charge.
- If the problem cannot be rectified, Guardsman will replace the affected area free of charge.
Upholstery Pricing Structure - A small price for peace of mind…
Fabricgard costs £35 per seating unit, and Leathergard £55 per seating unit. The following indicates how this relates to your Laura Ashley purchase:
- 1 UNIT: armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, Prestbury bench
- 2 UNITS: two-seater sofas, small two-seater sofas, chaise longue
- 3 UNITS: three-seater sofas, large two-seater sofas
- 4 UNITS: grande sofas
(To give you added value on your initial order, Fabricgard is FREE for additional loose covers and armcaps ordered and paid for at the same time; loose covers ordered separately will be charged in accordance with the table above, e.g. Loose covers for a large two-seater sofas in fabric will be charged in accordance with the table above. For armcaps ordered separately, they will be treated with Fabricgard protector free of charge but the insurance policy will not be available).
A few quick care tips…
As well as protecting your new upholstery with Guardsman, here are a few suggestions to look after your furniture. The life and appearance of your furnishings will be maximised with regular maintenance.
On Upholstery
- Vacuum upholstery regularly to remove dust and dirt
- Have fabric covers cleaned at least every 12-18 months. Safeclean, Valspar's own furniture care specialists, provide a professional and expert cleaning and care service covered by their guarantee of satisfaction.
- Remove all spills immediately. Blot liquid spills with a clean, dry, white cloth, work towards the centre of the spill. Do not rub or use abrasive cleaners as this may damage the furniture. Should a spill result in a stain, follow the Guardsman claims procedure.
- Plump cushions and periodically reverse and rotate all loose cushions by following the Information and Care Guide.
- Keep leather upholstery away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
On Cabinet
- Dust frequently using a soft lint free absorbent cloth, avoid wax and silicone polishes. Maintain any special finishes such as oiling, by following the Information and Care Guides.
- Clean spills up immediately using a blotting actions rather than a wiping action.
- Keep wooden furniture away from heat sources and direct sunlight and rotate accessories on furniture so they don't sit in the same place all the time.
- Use pads, cloths or felt to protect from rubber feet, hot dishes, beverages and vases etc.
- Lift and place objects, do not drag them across the surface of the furniture.
